There’s is a high demand for Maldives Tuna, due to its unmatched sustainability, traceability, and quality. With our sales offices in Frankfurt, Colombo, NY, and India, we are continually looking to expand and diversify our markets. Our aim is to bring premium quality sustainable Maldives Tuna to more markets worldwide – giving back to our fishermen the best premium possible.

Ensis Canning Factory

Ensis Canning Factory is Ensis’s 3rd EU-approved factory (MDV 020). Located in the Maldives city Hulhumale’, it’s a USD 25 million investment, funded by the German Development Bank DEG. The state-of-the-art cannery has a cold storage capacity of 1500 MT and a daily processing capacity of 25 to 30 MT.

Our cannery produces MSC certified Skipjack canned tuna, sourced, processed, and packed directly in the Maldives, via Pole & Line sustainable fisheries. With the cannery, we aim to limit Maldives tuna being sold as raw materials to be value-added in overseas factories and instead produce fish cans at the source, which is more sustainable, and under the best quality control standards, from the initial haul to the final product.
